How to use this word search
Across, down and diagonally, forwards only. Circle each complete word and cross it off the list. Letters may belong to more than one word.
Start with MOON or STAR to become familiar with the grid, then try GALAXY, METEOR and NEPTUNE. Every listed term has a marked path in the answer key. The puzzle is a vocabulary activity; it does not explain the astronomy behind each term.
After the activity
Pick one object to research in a book or a trusted science resource. Describe the difference between an object, such as a planet, and a path, such as an orbit.
Print a clear copy
Choose US Letter for 8.5 × 11-inch paper, or A4 for 210 × 297 mm paper. Both editions contain the same activity and matching answers. Use portrait orientation and actual size. Page 1 is the activity; keep page 2 aside for checking. Print one sample before making classroom copies.
You may print copies for your family, class or tutoring group. Retain the JotOak attribution and share this page with other readers. Read the usage terms.
