How to use this word search

Across and down, forwards only. Circle each complete word and cross it off the list. Letters may belong to more than one word.

Familiar objects such as BOOK, DESK and RULER offer a clear starting point. Read PENCIL and PAPER carefully: both begin with P, but the next letter tells you which path to follow. Keep the word list beside the grid while searching.

After the activity

Choose an object from the list and find it in the room. Use its name in a short sentence, or sketch what belongs inside a school bag.

Print a clear copy

Choose US Letter for 8.5 × 11-inch paper, or A4 for 210 × 297 mm paper. Both editions contain the same activity and matching answers. Use portrait orientation and actual size. Page 1 is the activity; keep page 2 aside for checking. Print one sample before making classroom copies.

You may print copies for your family, class or tutoring group. Retain the JotOak attribution and share this page with other readers. Read the usage terms.
