How to use this word search
Across and down, forwards only. Circle each complete word and cross it off the list. Letters may belong to more than one word.
Read the ten seaside words before searching the large-letter grid. The only directions are forwards across and down. Keep the print at its original size so the grid and list remain readable together.
After the activity
Describe something you would take on a seaside trip, or draw a coast with labels from the list. Add your own local place words using the custom generator.
Print a clear copy
Choose US Letter for 8.5 × 11-inch paper, or A4 for 210 × 297 mm paper. Both editions contain the same activity and matching answers. Use portrait orientation and actual size. Page 1 is the activity; keep page 2 aside for checking. Print one sample before making classroom copies.
Avoid two pages per sheet: at 100%, the grid uses 19-point letters and the word list uses 16-point text. Print scaling changes those sizes.
