How to use this word search
Across and down, forwards only. Circle each complete word and cross it off the list. Letters may belong to more than one word.
The meadow list includes familiar sights such as GRASS, CLOUD and POND alongside the longer BUTTERFLY. Ten forward-only paths and large letters give the search room to breathe. Check complete spellings even when a short beginning looks familiar.
After the activity
After a walk, choose something on the list you noticed outside. Sketch a meadow and label a few features using the printed words as a spelling reference.
Print a clear copy
Choose US Letter for 8.5 × 11-inch paper, or A4 for 210 × 297 mm paper. Both editions contain the same activity and matching answers. Use portrait orientation and actual size. Page 1 is the activity; keep page 2 aside for checking. Print one sample before making classroom copies.
Avoid two pages per sheet: at 100%, the grid uses 19-point letters and the word list uses 16-point text. Print scaling changes those sizes.
You may print copies for your family, class or tutoring group. Retain the JotOak attribution and share this page with other readers. Read the usage terms.
