How to use this word search
All eight directions, including backwards. Circle each complete word and cross it off the list. Letters may belong to more than one word.
Long words such as CELEBRATION, NUTCRACKER and MISTLETOE make this an unhurried search. All eight directions are possible. Use the list to check each ending, and choose a light pencil mark where paths overlap.
After the activity
Describe a winter scene using FROST, ICICLE or FIREPLACE. For different reading preferences, offer the easy or large-print Christmas edition beside this harder grid.
Print a clear copy
Choose US Letter for 8.5 × 11-inch paper, or A4 for 210 × 297 mm paper. Both editions contain the same activity and matching answers. Use portrait orientation and actual size. Page 1 is the activity; keep page 2 aside for checking. Print one sample before making classroom copies.
